Welcome to the official website of the Oregon State Society, Daughters of the American Revolution (OSSDAR).

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR), was founded when four women banded together in Washington, D.C., to organize a women’s service organization. Over one million women have joined DAR since its founding on October 11, 1890.

Oregon State Society, NSDAR, was organized in 1914, eight years after Multnomah Chapter, NSDAR, was organized in 1896. Currently, Oregon has 31 chapters with over 1,700 members. We welcome women from all corners of Oregon to join our mission of historic preservation, education, and patriotism. 

Any female descendant of an ancestor,  who served or contributed to the American Revolution is eligible for membership. We welcome you to join us as we work for peace, harmony, and unity for a better America.
